The School of Architecture complex comprises 10 V- and U-shaped pavilions, surrounding a central square. These are connected to each other, in some cases by more than one point. The 4 south-facing pavilions enjoy views over the Douro River. These volumes are similar in plan but not in elevation. In them are located the workshops and offices of the teachers and the classrooms for study. All with the same surface find their differentiation in the windows, some to protect themselves from the sun, others as framing the landscape. These towers are connected to the main building by a series of corridors below the plaza.
